|Captain Michael Reardon|
Capt. Michael Reardon learned the ropes growing up on waters of Cape Cod. He brings a varied experience aboard commercial, charter and marine research vessels to the classroom of Confident Captain.
His maritime career began after graduating from Holy Cross College. Capt. Reardon spent many years instructing and captaining on sport dive charters both in New England and Caribbean waters. He worked the decks of commercial ferries on the Hyannis to Nantucket run, and later sailed several seasons as mate and relief captain aboard the traditional sailing schooner Bay Lady II. Michael worked several research seasons both shipboard and from the sky as a marine researcher with the Center for Coastal Studies. Winters focused on aerial surveys for North Atlantic Right Whales; summers scanning the Atlantic horizon for whales aboard Dolphin Fleet whale watch vessels.
Today, Capt. Mike operates a dive and delivery service and continues to instruct new generations of divers. You can find him weekdays at Jamestown Distributors in Bristol, RI, where he works as a technical writer with the product management team. Capt. Reardon holds a 200 ton Masters license with sail and tow endorsements and STCW 1995 Certification. He is also a NAUI scuba and CPR/1st Aid instructor with 3000-plus logged dives.
