“Women on the Water” Program to Make a Splash at Providence Boat Show

Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, Rhode Island’s premier mariner education program, invites women to join them at the Providence Boat Show on Saturday, January 24 for “Women on the Water”. Taught by women for women; this two-hour seminar is sponsored by Safe/Sea Marine Rescue, the leading provider of on-the water boat towing services and marine salvage services for recreational boaters in Rhode Island. Women on the Water provides answers to all your boating questions in a friendly, stress-free setting. Led by an experienced female captain, this course is designed for women of all experience levels—whether you are just getting your feet wet or you have a few seasons under your belt. Come learn about navigation, docking, emergency procedures, and more. This exciting and informative program will cover the fundamentals while still leaving ample opportunity to ask questions.

The program kicks off at 1:00pm with an exciting discussion designed specifically for women and led by one of our skilled female captains. Program topics include: navigation basics, rules of the road, docking and maneuvering  emergency procedures and safety, and confidence building. There will be plenty of opportunities for participants to have their questions answered in a friendly, relaxed environment. The event ends with coffee and refreshments, allowing students to ask questions and get answers to their boating questions. The cost is only $40 for the 2-hour seminar and includes free all-day Saturday admission to the Providence Boat Show.

"Our Women on the Water program is a great way for women to build their boating confidence, learn new skills and meet other women who enjoy boating”, says Captain Kent Dresser, Confident Captain/Ocean Pros President/Founder.
